A nostalgic return to my love for French Bulldogs and the tale of Le Frenchie Dior.
My path as a fashion illustrator has been a wild ride, filled with a whirlwind of creativity that has shifted from the playful to the polished. Among the first characters I cherished illustrating were the charming French Bulldogs. Their animated expressions and lively antics infused so much happiness into my work.
As my career took flight, my art began to change, and my subjects became more purposeful as I started working alongside luxury brands and upscale hotels. However, despite these changes, my affection for sketching French Bulldogs has never wavered, even though they've become less frequent in my art. That's why I felt such joy returning to this favourite subject in my most recent illustration, Le Frenchie Dior.

The Vision Behind Le Frenchie Dior.
The concept of Le Frenchie Dior first struck me during my last trip to Paris. I had just stepped out of the Dior boutique on Avenue Montaigne, the bags in my hand still warm from my latest purchase when I spotted her—a chic Parisian woman effortlessly strolling down the sidewalk. At her heels trotted a most adorable Frenchie, embodying all the elegance of the city. The click of her heels and the jingle of her dog's collar echoed in the crisp Parisian air as she paused before stepping into the boutique. Meanwhile, her Frenchie waited outside, as poised and patient as a royal guard. With its Dior Oblique Mitzah (adorable!) tied neatly around its neck. Amid the pristine white planters and their meticulously trimmed boxwood plants, the scene was so quintessentially Parisian that I just had to illustrate it.
The evolution of my art.
Looking back, French Bulldogs played a significant role in my early work. They were a frequent subject in the pretty and cute illustrations that defined the beginning of my career. My fondness for Frenchies has never faded though. These delightful dogs have a special place in my heart, and returning to them in Le Frenchie Dior was like revisiting an old friend. It was a chance to blend my past and present, combining the charm of my early work with the elegance of my current style.
